                and the winner is...

Each member and guest of the Davenport Schuetzen Verein!  Yes, the building is now complete and the keys have finally been turned over to the club.  This is something that each current (and former) member should be very proud of. Many years of patience, financial and physical planning have once again paid off.

It is a beautiful facility that will serve the organizations needs for many, many years as we expand the usefulness of this facility and the new Schuetzen Park!

It was also great to have the Outdoor King celebration in the new building. What a great facility!

For those of you that may be interested in the clubs early history or simply in local history, Chris J has compiled an article on how the club was affected by the years of prohibition.  It's a bit of a long read, but one I'm sure you'll find very interesting.  Click on Club History to read or download this article.  Chris has been adding little articles for several months now and when you see him, give him a little pat on the back.  It's not easy to research, then convert all of these old articles to English.

Are we there yet?

As you know, progress has been steady on the new building and it's just about to  be turned over from the contractor to the club.  If you haven't stopped out to see it, you're in for a wonderful experience.  To those of you who have helped plan the design and construction of this building, or helped in other ways such as clean up, the Board of Trustees wishes to thank you.  It's been a long time coming and should be enjoyed not only by us, but by generations to follow.

and it begins...

The Board of Trustees has finalized the building plans for an indoor facility at our Princeton property. Construction is underway.  This will be an impressive building complete with meeting room, storage, etc.  When this is completed, we will truly have our "New Schuetzen Park"
